I've always thought "Amazing Grace" was a wonderful piece of music. It needed a chorus, though -- so I wrote one. While I was at it, I made some changes in the lyrics, too, so that I could sing 'em with the conviction they deserve. I like my arrangement a lot. The only really difficult part was deciding what instrumentation to use in the lead break. I tried a harmonica first and, while it was good, it just didn't feel finished to me. So I tried adding a fiddle counter-melody. That seemed distracting. Eventually, I surrendered to the inevitable -- and then everything just fell into place. I produced, arranged and engineered the song. I also sing lead and play acoustic guitar, DR-770 and Korg Triton.

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound

That saved a wretch like me.

I once was lost, but now I'm found.

I was blind, but now I see.
It was grace that filled my heart with fear,
And grace those fears relieved.
And grace, it touched my heart with joy
B E E7
When grace I first received.

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound

That saved a wretch like me.

I once was lost, but now I'm found.
B7
I was blind, but now I see.
Through endless danger, traps and snares
I have for so long roamed,
And it's grace that's seen me through this far.
And grace I know will see me home.
Amazing grace..
