D G
Well the dead that we could find have now been buried
A G D
And we have wept and we have mourned for those who died.
D G
And we've comforted the ones who'll go on living
A G D
And we've stood up to celebrate our pride.
D Em
But there's something fundamental that's been stolen
A D
From our hearts and from our homes.
D Em
It's something that we used to take for granted:
A G D
A feeling we were safe, deep down in our bones.
Em
'Til they fell down
A
And lay shattered on the ground.
Em
'Til they fell down.
D
'Til they fell down.
Now our lives have been forever altered
And this awful thing that happened is now part of who we are.
The wounds that we received, they are healing,
But they are deep and they will always leave a scar.
Where they fell down..
(Instrumental verse and chorus)
Now the ones that did this thing, well they are running.
And they can run, but there is nowhere they can hide.
For the giant they awakened has gone hunting
With justice in his hands and vengence in his eyes.
And they'll fall down,
Yes, the time will come around
And they'll fall down.
They'll fall down.
For the evil that men do comes back to haunt them
And they will find that for their crimes there is a cost.
And when they've paid that price and this ordeal over
Perhaps we'll find that precious thing we lost.
When they fell down..
